On the morning of December 12, 2025, Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH) held the annual review conference to summarize outstanding achievements in 2025 and set strategic directions for tasks in 2026. Attending and chairing the conference were Mr. Nguyen Van Doan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the VNMH; Mr. Nguyen Van Ha, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoan, Member of the Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Party Committee’s Inspection Commission, and Deputy Director. The conference was also attended by all VNMH staff and representatives from Company 5, Regiment 31, under the Mobile Police Command, Ministry of Public Security.

Mr. Nguyen Van Ha, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Museum’s leadership, delivered the Report on 2025 Work Performance and Directions and Tasks for 2026. The conference also included financial and inspection reports; speeches by representatives of departments (Exhibition and External Relations, Education and Communication, Archaeology, and Administration and General Affairs), and attended the launch of the 2026 emulation movement.

 
 
Overview of the Conference
Throughout 2025, under the guidance of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors, the Museum effectively carried out research, collection, and archaeological activities. Significant attention was paid to artifact inventory and conservation, while exhibitions, education, and external communication activities were enhanced to promote cultural heritage values.
Scientific research and archaeological excavations were actively conducted at major sites across the country, including Dai Cung Mon, Lieu Coc Twin Towers (Hue), Luy Lau (Bac Ninh), Phan Hiep (Lam Dong), Thanh Trung (Can Tho), and Oc Eo - Ba The (An Giang).
The Museum completed numerous scientific reports and dossiers, provided professional consultancy, and collected valuable artifacts, strengthening its role as a leading institution in research and collection.

Education and communication activities continued to be strongly promoted, affirming the Museum's role as a bridge connecting heritage with the public. In 2025, the Museum welcomed 206,273 visitors and organized 650 “History Class” programs. Educational programs were meticulously developed, closely linking museum’s exhibitions with the history curriculum in schools. In addition, activities such as exchanges with historical witnesses, scientific seminars, experiential programs, and collaborations with schools, local museums, and publishing houses, were implemented. Communication activities were conducted in diverse forms, contributing to bringing heritage closer to the public, especially the youth.
Regarding exhibition activities, in 2025, the Museum organized four internal thematic exhibitions and collaborated with other agencies and localities to hold 4 joint exhibitions. In particular, the exhibition “Vietnamese History and Culture” celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day (A80) at the Vietnam Exhibition Center i(Dong Anh, Hanoi), was implemented urgently and intensively under a tight schedule. Despite the time constraints, the project ensured on-time completion, met all requirements, and achieved high quality. . The exhibition created a positive media effect, attracting significant public attention and affirming the nation's achievements over 80 years of nation-building and defense.
In addition, other areas of work such as External Relations, Library, Inventory and Conservation, and General Administration were consistently prioritized and overseen by the leadership to ensure that documents and artifacts are safely preserved, scientifically managed, and effectively utilized. These activities contribute to the museum’s core values and provide essential support for its exhibition, education, and communication missions.
Based on the achievements in 2025, numerous collectives and individuals were recognized with various titles.  Regarding Party work, one party cell was recognized for completing tasks with excellence, four party cells for completing tasks well, and 16 comrades were awarded the title of “Grassroots Emulation Fighter,” with the Party Committee proposing a collective rating of “Completing Tasks with Excellence in 2025”. In terms of administrative work, one collective and three individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; additionally, 19 individuals achieved the title of “Grassroots Emulation Fighter,” 22 individuals were recognized for completing tasks with excellence, and 18 individuals were commended for their work contributions.

Mr. Nguyen Van Ha presented Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals from Company 5, Regiment 31, Mobile Police Command – Ministry of Public Security, for outstanding performance in armed guard and target protection work at the VNMH in 2025.
In his concluding speech, Director Nguyen Van Doan acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and spirit of solidarity of the VNMH collective. He emphasized that 2025 was a year with many events celebrating major national holidays, which entailed numerous unexpected tasks that had to be implemented urgently within a very short timeframe and involved a large, complex workload. Nevertheless, the museum fulfilled all assigned responsibilities effectively. He attributed this success was primarily due to the close cooperation among departments, and especially the great dedication and sense of responsibility of the staff assigned to these tasks. He further affirmed that the results achieved this year are not only a legacy from previous generations but also create a solid foundation for the development of future generations.
The Director requested that in the coming time, all departments continue to adhere closely to political tasks, improve professional quality, strengthen inter-departmental coordination, accelerate the digitization of documents and artifacts to to meet the requirements of modernizing museum activities and serving the public increasingly better.

Director Nguyen Van Doan also announced that the project “Renovation and Upgrade of the Vietnam National Museum of History at No. 01 Trang Tien” will require a temporary closure of exhibits. During this period, departments are expected  to adjust plans proactively and coordinate in executing their assigned responsibilities. Although this may cause some disruption, the temporary closure is necessary to prepare for a new, modern, and synchronized exhibition space that meets future development requirements.
With this spirit, he expressed his confidence that the VNMH will continue to promote its tradition of solidarity, proactively overcome difficulties, seize opportunities, and successfully complete all assigned tasks.
