Bảo tàng lịch sử Quốc gia

Vietnam National Museum of History

These artworks were produced by students of the Indochina College of Fine Arts during the French colonial period (now the Hanoi University of Fine Arts). Inspired by the experience of everyday Vietnamese life, the students created highly realistic artworks, such as the scene of a farmer plowing, a woman carrying her child, a woman washing clothes, a man catching fish, etc. Every detail and line was vividly expressed to depict the appearance, dress and daily life of rural people during this period. With such values, these artworks have become precious historical artefacts contributing to the cultural heritage of Vietnam.
