Vietnam National Museum of History

This collection is composed of large-size objects from the periods of the Ly to the Nguyen dynasties with various types such as steles, statues, towers, architectural elements and so on which were made of durable materials such as stone, terra cotta and pottery. Decorative patterns include dragons, phoenix, clouds, flowers, animals, warriors, and dancers which reflect the artistic, architectural and cultural characteristics of each dynasty. It also indicates that Chinese, Indian and Champa cultural elements were selectively accepted to create a distinctive culture of Dai Viet, contributing to the enrichment of Vietnamese cultural heritage.
